Check Out This Babywearing Children's Book
I ran across this book while poking around some attachment and natural parenting resources online and just wanted to give a little shout out about it! It’s a children’s book about babywearing called A Ride on Mother’s Back: A Day of Baby Carrying Around the World.

A Ride On Mother's Back: A Day of Baby Carrying Around the World
Though we know that carrying our babies is as modern a convenience as anything, and a healthy pleasure backed by proven babywearing research, it is sweet to see a book for children that shares insights into how people from many cultures (many of them living in non-Western/"modern" ways) wear/carry their babies throughout daily life. In this book, we see mothers, fathers, siblings and others carrying children in baby wraps and baby carriers of all kinds while working, playing and otherwise moving through their active lives.

I imagine that children, especially those that ride along close to mom or dad in their baby carrier on a regular basis, will enjoy seeing the illustrations of babies and small children from many cultural heritages being carried as well. The special section in the back of the book that tells more about the peoples featured offers an extra dose of social studies for older children, too. I bet this book would be a good addition to your cuddly close story time and educational bookshelf alike.

Do you have this book? What do your little ones enjoy most about it?
